Recruiting Report: Christian Hamil (2017)
A key player for Evanston this season has been 2017 small forward Christian Hamil. The senior has shot lights out from the perimeter in several games. The 6’4” wing is best spotting up for threes. He spaces the floor with his jump shooting and has great shot preparation getting ready to let it fly. Offensively that is mostly what he is at this stage. Good strength and contributes on the glass in traffic. Potential lower end D2 prospect or outstanding NAIA/D3 prospect.
He updated us on where his recruitment stands.
“I am being recruited by NAIA Trinity, D2 Pittsburg State, D2 Assumption, D3 St. Norbert, and D3 St. Norbert.”
Has he visited any schools?
“I haven’t taken visits to any schools other than Trinity, but after the season I am looking forward to taking all my visits.”
Hamil spoke about his strong senior campaign.
“I feel my senior year has gone well. Being a leader to all the young guys and trying to direct guys.”
Obviously he can really shoot it, but what other areas does he feel he can bring to a team at the next level?
“Playing defense and grabbing rebounds. Doing the little things like diving on the floor and getting 50/50 balls. That is what I like to do other than shoot it.”
