Recruiting Report: Cam Gross (2017)
OPRF 2017 power forward Cam Gross is one of the better post players remaining in the state. The 6’6″ four man has a big frame, but retains quality mobility. Gross is quick finishing around the hoop using aggressive post moves. Finishes dump off passes well on the interior with strong hands and the ability to finish through contact. Handles it well from the mid-post and in being able to put it on the deck a couple dribbles and likes to use a spin move in the lane. Gross is a plus rebounder that boxes out and snatches rebounds out of the air. Passes well on the interior. Gross is a D2 prospect that is also being heavily recruited by several JUCO programs.
He spoke about his final high school season.
“My senior year has gone good. I have become stronger and faster. I use that and try to play my game. Continue to work on improving my jump shot, defense, and post game.”
What does he feel he can bring to a team at the next level?
“I can bring energy, defense, and an inside/out player.”
Gross is hearing from an array of schools.
“Des Moines Area College in Iowa, Emporia State, Kennesaw State, Olney Central, Kirkwood, Benedictine, Rock Valley, and that is most it.”
What schools does he want to make sure he gets out to visit?
“Des Moines Area, Emporia State, Kennesaw State, and Olney Central.”
The senior talked about a timetable for a decision.
“Probably mid spring and I might play AAU again with the Illinois Stars.”
