Recruiting Report: Bryce Phillips (2018)
North St. Paul junior point guard Bryce Phillips helped lead the Polars to 17 wins which was better than people expected.
North St Paul was at state last year but they made state behind a veteran senior group of players. Goodnews Kpegeol was back along with Bryce and Josh Steckler but there was much to replace.
Phillips scored ten a game and had a stolid year at lead guard.
“The season started off well, but the longer we played we had our ups and downs,” Phillips said.
“I feel like my game grew with leadership and taking care of the ball.”
The Polars will again have to replace seniors as the third, fourth, and fifth leading scorers graduate (Steckler, Gary Dixon, and Jaquas Towns) but Dixon and Kpegeol are both back.
“We have to improve our team chemistry. And always playing until the buzzer. And working hard in practice is something we need to do as well.”
