North Dakota Playoff Central: March 7
Regional play moves on in North Dakota after a mostly quiet Monday night. NHD Playoff Central runs you through the night.
What went as Planned? One seeds Oak Grove, Dickinson Trinity, and Hillsboro/Central Valley handled their games easily while TLMM and Ellendale had tougher opponents resulting in a big tougher nights. Shiloh Christian is another one and they took care of business 60-37.
What Didn’t Go as Planned? Six seed Hankinson (a damn good six seed) knocked off Northern Cass 72-69. It wasn’t a huge upset but it did go against the seeding. Same can be said for Mott-Regent knocking off Hettinger/Scranton by a score.
Big Stage. There are five Regional final fours this evening, which one is the best to see? I would go with Region 3 where Ellendale faces Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter and Linton/HMB takes on Carrington in the definite game of the night.
What the State Wants. In Region 5 the state wants a third game between Shiloh Christian and Solen. Shiloh should handle Washburn quite easily while Solen has to slow down Trapper Jacobs and TLMM which should happen although the task is tougher.
The Betty. I don’t really know if they use that as a nickname but I’m going with it. Grand Forks will have HCV taking on Grafton/St. Thomas and Thompson against May-Port-CG.
Big Thursday. In South Dakota we’ve been talking Super Tuesday! In North Dakota you have the start of the Class A state tournament and, Region four, six, and eight get started.
