Noah Frederking Wins Player of Week
Congratulations to Okawville 2017 shooting guard Noah Frederking on winning this week’s PrepHoopsIllinois Player of the Week Award. In the highest vote in PHI history and possibly the entire PrepHoops Network ever Frederking won a heavily contested battle that came down to himself and fellow southern Illinois star EJ Liddell from Belleville West. Frederking received 28,907 votes (45%) defeating runner up Liddell who garnered 23,988 votes (38%). Third place finisher Maurice Commander of Marist landed an incredible 9,154 votes (14%). Thanks to everyone who contributed to the record breaking 63,000+ vote total!
Frederking definitely was deserving of the award. The Okawville senior is one of the top scorers in southern Illinois. He displayed that in a major way against New Berlin. In the final game on his home floor he went off! Frederking recorded an insane 40 points on the big stage to send his team to the supersectional.
The senior is a sharp shooter from the perimeter that moves well without the ball. Has solid strength and athleticism that allow him to score off the bounce on occasion. He is the premier 1A scorer in the state. Frederking will lead his team into the state final four beginning today. He is committed to Evansville next year.
Check back Monday to see who the next nominees will be for the PrepHoopsIllinois Player of the Week!
