NC-SC All Star Game Notes
Prep Hoops will take in the action on Saturday evening at the NC-SC All Star Game in Myrtle Beach. The venue is Socastee High School and the home of Clemson Wide Receiver Hunter Renfrow.
Prep Hoops takes a look at the South Carolina All-Star squad along with some tidbits.
Hayden Brown – Byrnes
Brown has signed with The Citadel for next season. Brown averaged 20.3 ppg this season for the Rebels.
Zach Butler
Zach Butler – Dorman (Roebuck)
Butler helped the Cavaliers win a 5A State Championship a few weeks back. Butler will take his game to Ohio University next season.
Jalen Cameron – West Florence (Florence)
Cameron is a the only member on the team that hasn’t signed for next season. Cameron scored 1,540 career points for the Knights and averaged 17.8 ppg and 9.8 rebounds this season. West Florence Head Coach Pete Ellis informed Prep Hoops that Cameron will visit Radford University in the near future. Cameron is ranked #16 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season.
Jason Cudd – Socastee (Myrtle Beach) (pictured on front)
Cudd 7’0 center is a South Carolina Gamecock signee for next season. Cudd will play his last game on his home floor Saturday night. Cudd averaged 18.7 ppg, 8 rebounds and shot 69% from the floor this season. Cudd scored right at 1,000 career points for the Braves,
Jordan Davis – Dutch Fork
Davis will play next fall at Dayton University. Davis averaged 18.9 ppg and 6.3 rebounds this season for the Silver Foxes. Davis was named 5A State Player of the Year and last year as junior was named 4A State Player of the Year.
Temetrius Morant – Crestwood (Dalzell)
Morant finished his career for the Knights with 1,727 points. Morant averaged 27 ppg this season. Morant will take his skills to the Ohio Valley Conference next season to play at Murray State University.
James Reese – A.C. Flora
Reese really came on strong after the New Year. Reese a Buffalo signee for next season recently scored 50 points in the Capital City All-Star Game . Reese named 4A State Player of the Year this season. Reese averaged over 20 ppg this season for the Falcons.
Tariq Simmons
Tariq Simmons – Keenan
Simmons will join forces with Hayden Brown next season at The Citadel. Simmons finished his career with the Raiders with a loss to Burke HS in the Class 2A State Championship Game. Simmons averaged 18.4 ppg this season. Simmons finished his career with 1,837 points.
Deshawn Thomas – A.C. Flora
Thomas stands at 6’10 and plans on attending Florida Southwestern State College next season. FSSC is a brand new junior college program that just played its first season in the NJCAA under the direction of Head Coach Marty Richter.
Clyde Trapp Jr. – Lower Richland
Trapp Jr. scored 20 points led the Diamond Hornets to a 4A State Championship over Wren HS a few weeks. Trapp Jr. will play in the ACC Conference at Clemson next fall.
