NC-SC All-Star Game Recap
The North Carolina All-Stars came down to Myrtle Beach to play the South Carolina All-Stars in the Annual Carolinas All-Star Classic. The game was played at Socastee High School. The South Carolina All-Stars came up a bit short and fell in defeat to the neighbors from the North 134-115.
Clyde Trapp Jr.(Lower Richland) led the way for the South Carolina All-Stars with 28 points and 8 rebounds. Tariq Simmons (Keenan) added 24 points in his last high school game. Temetrius “Ja” Morant (Crestwood) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals in the loss. James Reese (A.C. Flora) was the 4th member of the squad to reach double digits with 13 points. Trapp Jr. was named MVP for the South Carolina All-Stars.

The South Carolina All-Stars started Simmons, Reese, Zach Butler (Dorman), Hayden Brown (Byrnes) and Deshawn Thomas (A.C. Flora) in the game.
Simmons scored 5 of the first 10 points to start the game for the South Carolina All-Stars. The South Carolina All-Stars would go into halftime down at 62-44.
The South Carolina All-Stars jumped out on a 16-4 run to start the second half to close the gap to 66-60 with 15:55 left to play. Jalen Cameron (West Florence) would score his only bucket at the 15:12 mark to close the game at 70-65.
Tariq Simmons
Butler a Ohio University signee would score 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Jordan Davis (Dutch Fork) scored 7 points in his last game. Brown scored 4 points but added 12 rebounds in the loss. Brown and Simmons will join forces next season at The Citadel.
Jason Cudd (Socastee) playing his final game on his home floor scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cudd will suit up for the South Carolina Gamecocks next season.
Cameron remains unsigned for next season. Cameron 6’5 has received interest from Radford University according to Knights Head Coach Pete Ellis.
Thomas was held scoreless in the game and went (0-6) from the foul line. Thomas plans on attending Florida Southwestern State College next season.
The South Carolina All-Stars were just (11-27) from the foul line and hit (12-31) from behind the arc.
