Lakewood Park Finds A Way To Win Without Fetters
We didn’t learn until late that Lakewood Park would be without their top player in Keegan Fetters. He was suspended for something, a common theme on Tuesday night. However, they were still able to get the win in a game that they were down in. It was a wave of changes going from Lakewood Park having an easy first game to being without their star player to being down and almost losing to coming all the way back to win. It was a crazy night and now, we will see when and if Fetters returns because they can’t go as far as they should without him.
Morristown Needs OT To Beat Edinburgh
Of the teams I though Morristown would have issues with in this Sectional, Edinburgh was last on my list. They beat them by almost 50 earlier in the season so it wasn’t like anyone would have picked an upset. But, that is almost what we got as Morristown pulled away in overtime. I’m a big believer in close games and set your mind right so I expect this should do the same for Morristown, who’s life just got a lot easier now that Central Christian beat Arlington.
Central Christian Gets Miracle Full-Court Shot To Win
Well, I’m not sure if the shot made SportsCenter or not but it should. Central Christian put Arlington at the line with only a second on the clock with the score tied. They make the first to go up 1. They miss the second and all that is left is a miracle shot from the opposite end of the court. Josh Clanton gets the miracle. It was a really close game that came down to the finals seconds and you hate to see kids go out that way but you also have to feel good for Central Christian.
New Washington Gets Past Rock Creek
For the last few years, New Washington has been just okay, building up their program with a solid senior class. This year, they go in and they are 15-9, their best record in a while and they are finally ready to get over the hump and win a Sectional Championship. They haven’t won one since 2000-01. This Sectional is always solid but it has been a bit since they were the best team. Getting past Rock Creek is the first step. Next up is another tough out in Lanesville. Two more wins to reclaim a Sectional title.
