Zach Butler and Tyson McClain each scored a team-high 15 points to lead Spartanburg County over Greenville County in FCA All-Star game at Dorman High School. It was a celebration for the four seniors from Dorman to play their last game at home, after winning the school first state championship in basketball. The seniors were Butler, McClain, Chandler Tate, and Tae Cannon. Butler was named MVP for Spartanburg County.
Butler will play next season at Ohio University while Cannon has signed onto play at Catawba (NC) (D2).
Luke Brenegan
Tay Kershaw (Gaffney) gave Spartanburg County the lead for good with a basket at 2:25 left to break a 108-108 tied in the second half. Luke Brenegan (Wade Hampton) was named MVP for the Greenville County with his game-high 18 points.
The game ended with a dunk by Tae Cannon with less than :05 seconds left in the game. Kershaw scored 12 points and Mystical Tate (Gaffney) added 10 points. Tyrell Oglesby (Chapman) added 10 points, and Landon Moss (Spartanburg Christian) added 10 points for Spartanburg County.
Greenville County Andy Bryson (Greer) added 12 points Jalen Duffin (Berea) added 11 points, and Noah Fowler (Wade Hampton) had 11 points points. Also Jalen McKelvey (Southside) had nine points, Jaquan Holes (Hillcrest) had six points and DeShundre Rucker had three points for Greenville.
Both teams only committed a total of eight fouls in the whole game. Spartanburg County led the game at the half 54-49..
