Look at top freshmen we saw this season
Ty Berry, 6’2, SG, Newton
Berry is a scoring guard who is an aggressive player looking to put points on the board. Had some huge games for Newton, including a 41-point contest against Maize. He finished the season averaging 21.5 points per game.
Gavyn Elkamil, 6’2, SG, Pittsburg
Good all-around performer with good skill set. Has some size and length, solid ball handler and shooter and plays with poise.
Da’Vonshai Harden, 6’4, F, Highland Park
The younger brother of O’Shai Clark, Harden is a big framed kid with a solid all-around skill set. He is a tough match-up along the baseline, has a good outside shooting stroke and is tough to contain around the bucket.
Jonathan Jackson, 6’4, SF, Homeschool
The younger brother of North Carolina standout Justin Jackson, Jonathan Jackson hasn’t gotten much hype as he has played on the homeschool circuit instead of high school ball. Word is Jackson is going to play up an age group this year with MoKan Elite.
Ky Thomas, 5’11, PG, Topeka
Talented point guard who was also a standout on the football field in the fall for Topeka. He is a good ball handler and playmaker, is good at getting to the bucket and drawing contact and can also shoot from deep.
KT Raimey, 6’2, G, Olathe East
Is a smooth ball handler with a long frame who had some big games this season including a 21-point contest against Free State. Averaged 8.7 points per game and shot 34 percent from 3-point range.
Jaylin Richardson, 6’1, G, Turner
Strong, physical guard with big frame, can handle, pass and shoot and had several big in-game dunks this year for Turner.
Reece Williams, 6’5, F, Leavenworth
Capped a standout freshman season by being named the Sunflower League Freshman of the Year. Averaged 13 points, 6.0 rebounds per game and shot nearly 50 percent from the field.
Jordan Vincent, 6’1, SG, Goddard-Eisenhower
Has a smooth game, doesn’t try to do too much. Good size for a guard, really gets after it at the defensive end. Spent the season coming in off the bench playing a reserve role at a guard spot and averaged 4.0 points and 2.2 assists per game.
