Class 6A Oklahoma State All-Tournament team
The Oklahoma Class 6A State Tournament was filled with upsets in nearly every round. Edmond North defeated Booker T. Washington to silence any chance of an upset in the championship game. Several players improved their standing on the court with great games. Get a look at the complete Prep Hoops Class 6A All-Tournament team.
MVP: Marques Wilson 2017 Edmond North Guard (Signed LeHigh)
Marques Wilson displayed great leadership and poise throughout the weekend to lead Edmond North to victory. From behind the arc he could not be stopped. Edmond North relied on Wilson for so many things on and off the court and he delivered. He signed with Lehigh this past fall. As a combo guard Wilson can handle the rock well, with a great three-point shot and he has a college ready body.
Harrison Stoddart 2017 Edmond North Forward (Signed OBU)
Harrison Stoddart was the unsung hero for Edmond North all year long. In the State Tournament, Stoddart shined under the bright lights of the Mabee Center showing the state of Oklahoma his work ethic in the paint. He rebounded the ball really well, scored it well from all three phases, and played good defense holding his own on the low block. Although the offense never ran through Stoddart he found ways to be the most effective for Edmond North.
RJ Fuqua 2017 Booker T. Washington Point Guard (ORU Commit)
RJ Fuqua was the reason the Hornets got into the finals at the State Tournament. The great ball handling skills and vision of Fuqua set him apart from other players at the Point. Not to mention, Fuqua does a good job of taking advantage of openings offensively for himself as well. A huge scoring outing from Fuqua in the semifinals led Booker T. Washington to victory.
Adokiye Iyaye 2018 Putnam City North Combo Guard
The State Tournament was a coming out party for Adokiye Iyaye. Many across the state are not aware of just how good Iyaye is, but they learned this weekend. He played extremely well in the quarterfinals to lift Putnam City North to victory. In the semifinals, Iyaye was once again cooking from mid-range and beyond the arc. Putnam City North lost ultimately, but the future is bright with Iyaye.
Marvin Johnson 2017 Edmond North Wing
Marvin Johnson had to make this list because he was such a difference maker for Edmond North. He battled game in and game out to help Edmond North to the title. When Johnson wanted to get to the rim he did so and in impressive fashion. Johnson is an extremely athletic Wing with a bright future as he continues to develop on the basketball court.
