College coaches are going to be out and about after some of their seasons are coming to an end. With that in mind, we breakdown each Regional with the best players still available.
KANKAKEE VALLEY REGIONAL:
Charlie Nycz – 6’1 | CG | West Lafayette
Al Ervin – 6’0 | PG | Griffith
Cornell Hampton – 6’3 | SF | Griffith
Ignas Masiulionis – 6’2 | SG | Culver Academies
THOUGHTS: At Kankakee, you have a few guards and wings to take a look at. Charlie had a great Sectional performance and could be a taller lead guard for a DIII program. Ervin will give you a quick, shifty lead guard and Ignas is a big time shooter, both could fit in at NAIA or DIII programs. Hampton is a big wing with some athletic ability and rebounding to his game for a small school program.
MARION REGIONAL:
J.J. Foster – 5’10 | PG | Bishop Luers
Ray Walker Jr. – 5’9 | PG | Bishop Luers
Diamond Towns – 6’1 | SG | New Haven
THOUGHTS: The only players still left on the board at Marion are guards and all are still wide open. Foster and Walker both lack size but Walker is a quick, shifty guard while Foster can really shoot the ball at times. Towns is more of a physical guard with good size and upside.
GREENCASTLE REGIONAL:
Dylan Hyatt – 6’1 | CG | Northview
Drew Lumsdon – 6’8 | PF | Northview
Teyon Scanlan – 5’10 | PG | Crispus Attucks
Nike Sibande – 6’3 | SG | Crispus Attucks
Zach Callahan – 6’3 | SF | Danville
THOUGHTS: At Greencastle, you have a mix of levels as Sibande is a solid LM/MM talent and the best still on the board here. However, Hyatt and Callahan would both fit in at DIII/NAIA programs. Hyatt is fairly unknown but is a really heady guard who does just about everything on the floor. Lumsdon gives you a good outside-in big man who can really shoot it for a DIII/NAIA program. Scanlan has been playing better late in the season as a quick guard with a good jumper.
WASHINGTON REGIONAL:
Trey Wornica – 6’1 | SG | Pike Central
Gabe Elliott – 6’5 | PF | Pike Central
Javien Langley – 6’4 | SF | Evansville Bosse
Jaidon Hunter – 6’2 | SG | Evansville Bosse
THOUGHTS: At Washington, you have some really under-the-radar talents. The best is Langley who is a forward with athleticism and a motor who can work the boards and score using his strength. Trey and Jaidon are both pretty solid combo guards who can play on the ball but might be better early on playing off. They can both really score the ball. Wornica has the academics to suit a few high-academic programs. Gabe Elliott would be a sneaky good pickup for a DIII program.
