Simmons now off the board is a combo guard and ranked #6 in the Prep Hoops Top 125 this season. Simmons is a 4 year varsity winner at Keenan HS in Columbia.
“I really liked the coaches at The Citadel. The Citadel is a great school and I loved the team” said Simmons.
Simmons will join Hayden Brown and Kaiden Rice at the Southern Conference School next fall.
Simmons is averaging 17.4 ppg, 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.8 steals for the Raiders this season. The Raiders will open up in the playoffs on Tuesday vs Blacksburg. Simmons has scored 1,713 career points and grabbed 351 rebounds while dishing out 276 assists in 103 games.
Some more recruiting news Raymond Johnson has signed with Georgia Southern to play football next fall. Johnson is a undersized post play for the Sumter Fighting Gamecocks. Johnson is averaging 6.6 ppg and 6.1 rebounds this year. The Fighting Gamecocks will open the post season on Wednesday vs Spring Valley.
Ephraim Butler (2018) point guard took a unofficial visit to Coastal Carolina University today according to a close source. Butler has the Berkeley Stags as #1 seed in the playoffs this coming week. The Stags will play Darlington on Tuesday.
Butler played AAU last summer with SC Coastal Elite. Butler recently scored 25 points vs Colleton County to help the Stags (17-6) win the Region title.
