Porter Gaud 67 Heathwood Hall 44
The Cyclones came out strong in the game and never looked back in cruising to a easy semifinals win last night at the Sumter Civic Center. The Cyclones will look to win back to back state championships this season.
Jake Lanford
Aaron Nesmith (2018) led the way for the Cyclones with 16 points. Eric Jackson added 15 points while Jake Lanford (2018) chipped in 13 points. Super sophomore Josiah James finished the game with 10 points.
Josh Caldwell
The Highlanders were led in scoring by Justice Hill with 14 points. Matt Lee added 13 points and Josh Caldwell added 11 points. Caldwell a senior played in his last game at Heathwood Hall. Caldwell will play at West Point (Army) next season.
Cardinal Newman 54 Pinewood Prep 43
The nightcap featured the Cardinals defeating the Panthers of Pinewood Prep. Christiaan Jones led the Cardinals to the SCISA State Championship with 14 points. Jones has signed to play at Stetson University next fall.
Wynston Andrews scored 11 points, Chico Carter Jr. 10 points and Brandon Martin added 9 points. Martin is the son of University of South Carolina Head Coach Frank Martin.
Brandon Miller
Michael Wright finished his career at Pinewood Prep with 14 points. Jalen Slawson (2018) finished the evening with 13 points and Brandon Miller (2017) added 8 points. Post player Tyler Garvin finished the night with 6 points.
Wright, Miller and Garvin all seniors played there last games at Pinewood Prep.
The table is set now for Porter Gaud vs Cardinal Newman on Saturday night at 8:00 P.M.
