Continue ReadingThe Catonsville Comets are currently third in the Baltimore County Division II standings with a 12-7 record overall and 7-3 in conference. Much of their success can be credited to their senior guard Nate Chambers.
The 6’3″ combo guard is averaging a solid all-around stat line of 14.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He has posted three 20-points games including one agains Kenwood, Dulaney, and Randallstown. As the regular season comes to a close within the next eight days, Chambers hopes to put the Comets in the best position heading into state tournament play.
Chambers told PrepHoops that he has a few colleges expressing interest including: Flagler College, Lesley University, and Babson College.
“I think I can bring size at the point guard position 6’3″ with a 6’7″ wingspan. I have good lateral quickness, pretty good spring and athleticism,” Chambers said. “Also a streaky jump shot with good form.”
The basketball program of each school will of course hold significant weight on his decision, but Chambers’s 3.6 grade point average can attest that he takes pride in his work off the court as well.
Chambers is confident in his abilities and what he can take with him to the next level, all while realizing what aspects of his game need improvement.
“My game style is playmaking and getting others involved while still being aggressive,” Chambers told PrepHoops. “I’m a good vocal leader and set good examples on and off the court. My jump shot has been the biggest improvement in my game but it could be better. A strength I need to require is shiftiness with the ball and decision making.”
