Understands how to get others involved. Pushes the tempo with speed in transition. Stuffs the stat sheet from the lead guard spot. Scores, assists, and rebounds well for his position. The biggest thing with Castaneda is staying healthy. When on the court he is a mid-major plus prospect.
How has the season gone for the state’s #2 floor general in the 2018 class?
“I think I am slowly coming back. I had an injury at the beginning of the season, but I am coming back slowly but surely.”
He has had to take on a bigger role this season.
“It has been good. I just do the same things. I am just in the game more now. Allow my teammates to get open. Create for my teammates.”
Castaneda played at a high level at the Nike Elite 100 Camp in June.
“Playing in Elite 100 and various camps didn’t necessarily increase my confidence, but it allowed me to play against better competition and get a feel for that level.”
He updated us on his recruitment.
“So far I have offers from Tulsa, Iowa State, UIC, and Kent State.”
Castaneda runs with Meanstreets in the Nike EYBL.
