Bland is a floor spacer that can knock down mid-range jumpers, but is very good off the catch from three. Plays mostly inside for his high school team where he uses his quickness and strength to finish. Crafty moves with fakes and jabs to keep the defense off balance. Solid footwork in the post. Can also handle it on occasion slashing to the rim. Projects best as a low D2, high D3/NAIA prospect where he can be a combo forward.
Bland talked about his senior year with Quincy.
“I am getting to the basket well. Developing my outside shot more consistently. Overall it is going well. My teammates are finding me.”
When his game is rolling what are his strengths?
“Getting to the basket off the drive. Mid-range jumpers and corner jumpers. I am starting to extend my range out to three.”
Playing with Quad City Elite on the circuit helped elevate his game.
“It was huge. Coach Wynn helped me develop a lot. He helped me develop my right hand game and pull up game.”
What colleges is he in the most communication with?
“Hannibal Lagrange, Clarke University, Wisconsin Platteville, Qunicy, Upper Iowa, and Sioux Falls.”
