Currently with one JuCo offer from Shoreline Community College, Baker says some Division I schools have been looking at him lately, and prep schools.
“Coaches have been looking at me, some prep schools want me, and my coach says some colleges have come to see me. He says Seattle Pacific University, Portland State has come to see me, and Northern Arizona,” said Baker.
“What I’m hoping is that I get either a low D1 or a D2 scholarship. I would love to stay in Seattle, but I’ll go to wherever the best fit is for me.”
He added: “My main goal is to get college paid for, some way some how. Prep school wouldn’t be a bad option either.”
Shoreline has contacted him recently about coming to take a visit, and although a D1 or D2 scholarship is the goal, he says he’ll take the best offer that’s on the table.
“It’s (JuCo) something I‘d consider, I’d never overlook any opportunity. If JuCo is the route I’ll have to go then I’ll take it,” said Baker.
A combo-guard with plus athleticism, Baker is a guy that can do a little bit of everything on the court.
“I’m explosive, very athletic, good rebounder for a guard, and I also score a lot,” he said. “A lot of people define me as a defensive stopper, so I play both sides of the floor. And I’ve always been a player that I can do anything the coach needs me to do.”
As his season nears it’s end at Eastside Catholic, he explained what his role has been as a senior for the Crusaders.
“They just wanted me to come in and play my game, and do what I wasn’t able to do at Garfield which is come in and lead the younger guys,” said Baker. “Just be the anchor on the team.”
