A combo guard that can shoot, get to the rim and score, Hood can also play the point and run a team as well.
He says he spent the offseason working on his game and conditioning and the hard work has paid off this season as he is averaging 20 points per game.
Shawnee Mission West is currently 6-6 this season and have a big game coming up on Tuesday against Olathe South.
“My high school team, we are starting to get it right,” Hood said. “We started the season off bad but we are getting there to be great and I’ve been playing pretty good so far.”
Hood currently doesn’t have any offers, but has drawn interest from several NCAA Division I mid-major programs. He says he plans to reclassify to 2018 and attend prep school, however.
A fan of Kyrie Irving, Hood says the biggest influence on his basketball career is his brother and my sister.
“They died when I was younger,” he said. “I’ve been loving basketball forever but I just wanna make it somewhere one day for them. I wear my brothers jersey number to remember him.”
