“It has gone pretty well so far for us,” Mason said. “We are currently 17-2. Hoping to keep it rolling.”
Mason had a fantastic Grassroots season last spring and summer showing off the skillset to play on the arc but the toughness and size to play around the rim. That growth continues each day.
“I think that I’ve gotten stronger with the ball and better at finding more ways to score and not just relying on my jump shot,” Mason said. “There is still lots of room for improvement in all areas though.”
District play is no picnic with 16-4 Warner and Aberdeen Christian being potential opponents but Larson is confident in his team.
“They are looking good, Mason said. “It should be fun.”
Mason also is hearing from schools at the D1 and D2 level so it seems like scholarship opportunity for basketball is in his future.
“Well I’ve been in contact with quite a few schools,” Mason said. “Some being more serious than others at the moment. But most of the NSIC and a few Summit league schools along with a school from the Colonial league.”
