That is what he does, but sometimes he has had cold streaks. None of that this season at least in the games we have seen. The long and lanky small forward is a plus shooter off the catch with a quick release. Runs the floor in transition. Have always wanted to see more offensive versatility out of him, but he projects as a D2 shooting specialist.
We recently caught up with the sharp shooter to chat about his season.
“The season is going good. This year I had to step up more as points had to come for different areas. I think I am playing better. Trying to score on the boards and getting to the basket.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“I have been contacted by Tennessee State and UT Martin. Also Lincoln Memorial is showing interest.”
He told us what he will be looking for in a program.
“I like somewhere that fits my game and where I am comfortable with the coaching staff.”
Bateman ran with the Southwest Jets on the grassroots circuit.
