He is a sound perimeter shooter that gets excellent elevation on his shot with picture perfect mechanics. Plus pull up jump shooter that also moves well without the ball to get open. Defensively he is very aware getting in passing lanes and being active with his hands getting deflections. Should be a guy looked at by D2 programs.
The senior spoke about how it is going this year.
“I am playing great. I am having a great season so far. Getting my teammates involved and hitting the glass.”
What does he feel he can bring to a college team at the next level?
“I am a big guard at 6’4”. I am starting to shoot the ball a lot better. I can play defense. I value defense. I think that is a very essential part of the game.”
Niego has been a mainstay with Chicago Lockdown on the circuit over the years.
“Lockdown was great. The coaches and teammates were great. It was a close group. I can always count on them if I ever need advice on anything.”
The wing updated us on his recruitment.
“St. Xavier offered me. St. Francis, Loras, Augustana, Illinois Wesleyan, and St. Ambrose are all recruiting me pretty hard.”
He is not in a rush to make a decision as he is focused on his high school team.
