A strong, physical 6’8 2019 post, Tschirhart is an aggressive player who plays well within the team concept and is a strong defensive player and rebounder.
This past summer Tschirhart played for Don Weston on the KC Spurs 15U. He said he focused on improving his ability to finish around the basket and rebounding and says Weston has had the biggest impact on his game.
“When no one wanted me on their team, he took me in and formed me into the player I am today,” Tschirhart said. “Currently, Coach Weston is preparing me to showcase my skills and communicate with college coaches as I pursue a collegiate basketball career.”
Tschirhart is averaging more than 10 points per game playing for a talented and well-rounded Blue Valley squad that features Tyler Geiman and Harry Van Dyne (football, Minnesota) among others.
Tschirhart says he looks forward to playing against 6’5 2017 forward Harry Van Dyne who has signed to play football at Minnesota in practice the rest of the season.
“He pushes me to be the best player I can be and challenges me in practice,” he said. “The team I look forward to playing against would be the Blue Valley Northwest Huskies because they are filled with talent this year and always put up a good fight.”
A fan of Oklahoma and Wichita State basketball, Tschirhart says both schools he is interested in attending when he graduates high school.
“Not only do they have strong basketball programs, but they also have highly respectable academic programs,” he said.
Tschirhart says he has received interest from Concordia University in Nebraska, but has been getting more involved in the recruiting process ever since he was invited to and attended the ESPN Top 100 Basketball Camp in Indianapolis last summer.
“I am looking to pick up more interest and come closer to a decision after I play in out-of-town showcases this summer,” he said.
