The Slidell wing has a brother in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the plan — as of now — is to head north to spend his offseason training with him.
“I’m heading to Ohio this summer because my older brother coaches out up there. And he has really helped me in the past, and I think he can continue to really help me — especially with my shot,” said Thomas.
“This offseason I’m really hoping to become more of a knockdown shooter, a better team player and just become a better player so we can go farther my senior year.”
The junior prospect has been proactive with his recruitment, and says there has been one northern school that has liked the film he’s sent.
“I’ve been talking so Southwest Minnesota State University; we’ve been talking on Twitter and they said they want more film on me,” said Thomas.
“I’ve just been sending my film out to places, and they were the ones that responded.”
A versatile offensive threat, Thomas defined his playing style to PHLA.
“My main skill is to drive the lane and get a bucket, but I basically score based on what the defense gives me; if it’s a zone I will shoot it, if it’s man, I’ll take it to the rack,” said Thomas.
“I’m trying to work on my shot more, defense, rebounding, and getting my teammates involved more — that’s what I’ll be working on this summer, also adding weight and getting stronger and faster.”
