As a regular starter with the Pioneers during the second half of the season, Joshua has taken the role as lead distributor, and prides himself on being able to set his teammates up for success.
“My strengths are playing defense and getting my teammates involved,” said Joshua. “I’m working on shooting the ball and my handles, they could get better.”
He mentioned what his specific role has been this season with the Pioneers.
“They just need me to be a leader and talk more,” he said. “And to play defense, get everybody involved, and to standout. I just play my game, that’s all.”
Joshua added: “I’m happy with how I’ve played, but I think I can get better. I really want us to focus on playing together and feeding off each other, and focus on getting a state ring.”
Just as soon as his freshman season is done, Joshua will head into his 15U grassroots season. He’ll be playing with Elfrid Payton Elite this spring.
“We’re going to have a great team, and I think we can make a lot of noise on the circuit,” he said. “I’m hoping to get looked at by a lot of coaches, and I think this summer will help a lot for my future, towards going to the next level.”
