North Dakota Playoff Central: Feb 27
No waiting around, there are huge games in Class B tonight! Six 1 vs 2 seed games in all plus some 1 vs 3 contests. It’s a huge night in North Dakota so get ready with North Dakota Playoff Central.
North Dakota Playoff Central. Here is your list of 1 vs 2 games right off the bat: Linton/HMB vs Napolean/GS (District 6), Parshall vs Trinity Christian (District 15), Our Redeemer vs Bishop Ryan (District 12), St. John vs North Star (District 8), Carrington vs Ellendale (District 5), and Solen vs Shiloh Christian (District 9).
In addition, other big games this evening include: Four Winds/Minnewaukan vs Harvey/Wells County (District 7), TLMM vs Washburn (District 10), and Stanley vs Kenmare (District 16).
Six seed Velva/Sawyer is against one seed Bottineau and the Aggies have a real chance here. They crushed Nedrose on Saturday and in the earlier Aggies/Braves game Bottineau won by only a basket. Both teams have losing records this year and both are going for win ten. After the game they can watch Rugby and Westhope/Newburg play for the event title.
Top Location. Crosby. I say Crosby because you can get a look at what should be a really good game between Kenmare and Stanley, see how Joshua Kihle has progressed for Burke County who plays Tioga at 6, and then Ray and Powers Lake is the early game.
Devils Lake HS. This is a good spot as well with Minot State bound Jack Schaeffer and New Rockford-Sheyenne playing at four followed by Dakota Prairie vs Benson County, and finally Four Winds/Minnewaukan against Harvey/Wells County in the district title contest.
Game of the Night. Solen vs Shiloh Christian. This is without a doubt the game to keep an eye on. One loss Solen one the first game 78-71 and they haven’t slowed down all season. Solen has not lost to a team from North Dakota all year. Shiloh is really the only team to give Solen a game all season outside of the loss to Crow Creek from South Dakota. The Skyhawks lost four of their last six regular season contests but played one of the toughest schedules in the state. The match-ups spot by spot will be fun and the atmosphere tonight will be thick. Solen has more backcourt options but the Skyhawks are better up front. Both are good all around.
Names to Watch. Jayden Komrosky. Jayden and North Star are 16-4 on the year and tonight they take on unbeaten St. John. The Woodchucks won 78-62 the first game and sit at a comfortable 20-0. Bottineau and Rugby are the only teams to come within single digits of St. John but Komrosky is the player that has the ability to lead a team to a huge win like this. Can he do it tonight?
Upset City? Parshall dominated Trinity Christian the first time around and the Crusaders just got by North Shore and Mandaree. Winners of six of seven Trinity has a little momentum now while Parshall hasn’t loss since early January. I feel like Parshall wins but this game could be closer than people expect. The momentum wave is a big deal.
