Heading into those games, we take a quick step back to look at some of the best statistical teams of the season. Today, we are looking at the most dominant teams for their schedule this regular season.
4A Most Dominant: Castle – [Margin of Victory = 22.35]
For their schedule, Castle did really well. They don’t play a ton of games outside of their area but their area was strong this season with Evansville Harrison, Reitz, and Bosse all playing at a high level. The beat Mt. Vernon-Fortville early in the year by 20 and that kind of set the tone. They should be a darkhorse in 4A this postseason with the way they are built. They have a ton of size and their smallest player on the floor might be 6’1. They have all the pieces and it has shown to this point in the season.
3A Most Dominant: Culver Academies – [Margin of Victory = 20.05]
Culver has had a great season going 19-2 on the year. They have dominated everyone this season except for Fort Wayne North, a team nobody dominates, and Lafayette Jeff which you can chalk up as just a blip in the road. However, those were two of their top opponents this year. How they do in the State Tournament is still to be determined but their best win of the season is probably Twin Lakes or Mishawaka Marian.
2A Most Dominant: Frankton – [Margin of Victory = 20.09]
Frankton looks like they are back to being good at basketball after a couple of down season. Coach Brobston has his young core playing well. Their schedule isn’t really tough this year but they have a ton of teams on their schedule that they would have to face throughout most of the Sectional and Regional games which could go a long way into helping them move throughout this postseason. They are young but have good guards, a great wing scorer, and some post players that can provide interior help. They have a chance to prove their dominance in the Sectional.
1A Most Dominant: Tri-County – [Margin of Victory = 23.52]
Tri-County is the team in 1A that has surprised a ton of people this season. They have a really good offense and are holding opponents under 46 points per contest. Their schedule, for them, is pretty tough. They have teams like Clinton Prairie, Twin Lakes, Kankakee Valley, Rossville, and Pioneer that are all playing really well and to date, Tri-County is 21-2 on the season. They have been building up to this point the last couple of years and now it looks like they are running full bore and could potential surprise some people in the tournament although it shouldn’t be a surprise at this point.
