Upper State Bracket
Wren 75 Ridge View 65
John Kanaan (2017) recorded a double-double for the Hurricanes to advance to the Upper State Championship game on Friday vs Eastside HS. Kanaan scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Junior Trey McGowens matched Kanaan with 21 points and 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Jeremiah Neubia (2017) added 13 points in the win.
Wren improves to (22-4) on the season under Head Coach Fran Campbell.
Josiah Coatie led the Blazers with 25 points and Kaiden Rice chipped in 16 points. Walyn Napper scored 11 points in the loss. The Blazers finish the season at (14-7).
Eastside 55 Aiken 53
Rico Williams (2017) helped the Eastside Eagles to a victory in the 3rd Round with a last second block shot to prevail the win over Aiken 55-53. The Eagles return to the Upper State Championship game for the first time since 2012.
The Eagles (19-8) on the season were led in scoring by Deshundre Rucker with 13 points and Rico Williams with 10 points. The Eagles will play Wren for the 3rd time this Friday. Wren has won the previous 2 meetings this season. 67-58 and 60-57.
Kevin Williamson led the Hornets with 12 points in the loss.
Lower State Bracket
Wilson (Florence) 65 A.C. Flora 62
The Tigers remain perfect on the season and with a narrow victory over A.C. Flora 65-62.
Jaylen Quick (2017) led the way with 14 points, Blake Walker (2017) and Alex Caldwell (2018) both added 12 points a piece. The Tigers will be making there first appearance in the Lower State Championship game since 2007.
Christian Brown (2019) led the Falcons in defeat with 21 points and Class 4A – Player of the Year James Reese finished with 18 points. The Falcons finish the season at (16-12).
Lower Richland 41 Dreher 36
Clyde Trapp Jr.
The Diamond Hornets improve to (19-4) under first year Head Coach Caleb Gaither. Tevaughn Higgins (2018) led the way with 12 points while Clemson signee Clyde Trapp Jr. added 10 points.
Travis “TJ” Brown
Dreshaun Jones finished off his high school career with 18 points for the Blue Devils. Travis “TJ” Brown chipped in 10 points and Simon Grant (2018) 5 points in the loss.
Dreher finishes the season at (14-8).
