Upper State Bracket
Calhoun Falls Charter 77 Hunter-Kinard-Tyler (Neese) 74 at Greenwood High
Armani Cade layup with under a minute to play gave Calhoun Falls Charter the go-ahead basket at 75-74. The Blue Flashes advanced to the Upper State Championship game on Saturday.
Javariza Belton (2019) scored a game-high 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Blue Flashes. Lewis Turman (2017) had 18 points and Cade added 15 for Calhoun Falls Charter. The Blue Flashes improve to 19-3 on the season.
Davonte Scott (2018) scored a game-high 25 points and Marlow Gilmore (2019) added 24 points for Hunter-Kinard-Tyler who finished the season at 17-4.
Lewisville (Richburg) 76, Williston-Elko 70 at York Prep Academy
Demetric Hardin scored a team-high 20 points to lead Lewisville to the Upper State Championship game on Saturday. The two teams committed 56 fouls and had 63 foul shots in the game.
Lewisville outscored Williston-Elko 70-49 in the final three quarter after being behind 21-6 after the first. Trey Keels (Presbyterian Football signee) added 18 points and Mike Hill added 12 points for the Lions.
Hill has signed to play football at Iowa Western Community College next season. Keyshawn Toney (2019) scored a game-high 35 points in the loss. The Blue Devils end the season at 19-4.
Lower State Bracket
Hemingway 60 Baptist Hill (Hollywood) 41
Darius Williams and Tyrike Lewis each scored a game-high 15 points to lead Hemingway to the Lower State Championship game on Saturday. Desmond Pressley (2017) added 12 points and Soloman Skinner added 10 points for the Tigers. Hemingway jumped out to 39-18 halftime lead.
Hemingway improves to 20-5 on the season.
Dohondrey Jenkins led Baptist Hill with 18 points. The Bobcats finished the season at 15-7.
Bethune-Bowman 57 East Clarendon 53
Bethune-Bowman hit two free throws with under: 49 seconds to break a 53-53 tied to advance to Lower State Championship game on Saturday. Braxton Wedgeworth (2019) scored a team-high 19 points for Bethune-Bowman. Roderick Pam scored 13 points and Ikaun Smith (2017) added 10 points for the Mohawks. Bethune-Bowman outscored East Clarendon 17-10 in the second quarter after trailing 13-11 at the end of the first quarter.
Jabari Rose (2017) scored a game-high 20 points and Chris White added 16 points in the loss for the Wolverines. The Wolverines end the season at 14-10.
Class A playoffs (February 26)
Calhoun Falls vs. Lewisville at Bon Secours Wellness Center at Greenville at 12:30 p.m.
Hemingway vs. Bethune-Bowman at Florence Civic Center at 12:30 p.m.
