Cole recently transferred to York Prep near Rock Hill, South Carolina and has been playing great under head coach Frank Hamrick. York Prep plays a national schedule and a lengthy one at almost 40 games this season. He is ranked as the #12 prospect in 2017 by PrepHoopsSC.
Cole has verbally committed to former Clemson assistant coach Earl Grant and The College of Charleston. ” I recently verbally committed to the College of Chrleston, the main thing I was looking for is fit , the overall play style , and the coaching staff . In my game I feel like it would be my athleticism that opens up everything else for me once players decide to play back I can pull it from three. What I need to work on most is sitting down more on defense and trying to be more of a two-way player and do more rebounding offensively and defensively.”
Cole was at St. James Island High School near Charleston before deciding to transfer to York Prep. He is a long and athletic scoring guard who can be streaky from the outside.
Cole has the attitude that most college coaches love when they are recruiting a player. He does not back down from anyone. In a game earlier this year against Christ School (Arden, North Carolina) Cole came off the bench and knocked down five 3-pointers in a row scoring 16 points in the first half.
York Prep Head Coach Frank Hamrick had this to say about his star scoring guard, “Vince has the two things I love most in a player: he has a high motor and he can score the ball. He is an enthusiastic defender & an unselfish teammate.”
The future is bright for Cole and it is still under consideration that he might re-class to the 2018 class
