Hemingway vs Lewisville Friday March 3 5:30 P.M.
Desmond Pressley
Desmond Pressley 5’11 – Hemingway
Pressley is the Class A State Player of the Year. The Tigers will return to the State Championship again this season after losing to Calhoun County last year. Pressley a left-handed guard is at 13.1 ppg, 5.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. Pressley scored 45 points vs Blythewood back in December 2016 in the Pepsi Carolina Classic.
The Tigers are currently (21-5) on the season but 3 of those losses to start the season were with a very small and young roster. Many of the players on the roster were still playing football. Since then the Tigers have lost to Conway (5A) and West Florence (5A) and rolled to a (21-2) record.
Pressley is ranked #26 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Solomon Skinner 6’0 – Hemingway
Skinner is a multi-sport player here for the Tigers. Skinner transferred in from nearby Johnsonville HS. Skinner is averaging 9.2 ppg this season for the Tigers.
Class 2A
Burke vs Keenan Saturday March 4 12:30 P.M.
Sidney Robinson
Sidney Robinson 5’10 – Burke (Charleston)
Robinson a point guard is averaging 11.8 ppg , 4.4 rebounds, 5 assists and 2.8 steals this season. Robinson has scored over 1,200 career points and has been a fixture for 4 years on varsity roster. Robinson is ranked #47 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Anthony Hill 6’4 – Burke (Charleston)
Hill 6’4 small forward is leading the Bulldogs in scoring at 13 ppg and 7.7 rebounds. Hill is ranked #118 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Algenard Young #20 and Isaiah Holloway #5
Isaiah Holloway 5’11 – Burke (Charleston)
9 ppg, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Holloway is ranked #112 in the Prep Hoops 125.
Algenard Young 6’2 – Burke (Charleston)
8.4 ppg and 6 rebounds / Transfer from Charleston Collegiate
Rodriquez Marshall 6’0 – Keenan
Marshall plays in the same back court with Citadel bound Tariq Simmons. Marshall is at 9.2 ppg and 3 assists this season for the Raiders (22-5). Marshall dropped 27 points vs Spartanburg Day School earlier this season. Marshall might need to entertain junior college for next season according to the coaching staff.
Class 3A
Dillon vs Southside (Greenville) Saturday March 4 4:00 P.M.
Keenan Norman
Keenan Norman 5’10 – Dillon
Region VI-Player of the Year 16.8 ppg. Norman will need to entertain junior college. Norman is ranked #90 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Javier Brookins 6’2 – Dillon
9.4 ppg and 6 rebounds. Brookins is a very solid student in the classroom with a 3.7 GPA according to the coaching staff.
Jalen McKelvey 5’10 – Southside (Greenville) (pictured on front)
McKelvey is ranked #39 in the Prep Hoops Top 125. McKelvey has led the Tigers (26-1) all season long. McKelvey is averaging 21,2 ppg, 3.9 assists and 3.5 steals this season.
Class 4A
Lower Richland vs Wren Saturday March 4
Savion Townsend 6’0 – Lower Richland
Townsend a off guard for the Diamond Hornets is not the main focal point here. Townsend who’s averaging 7 ppg this season for the Diamond Hornets (19-4) plays in the shadows of Clyde Trapp Jr and Ja’Cor Nelson.
Jeremiah Neubia 5’11 – Wren (Piedmont)
Neubia is a strong built combo guard than can finish inside the lane. Neubia also plays football for Wren. Neubia a wide receiver recorded 794 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. Neubia is averaging 14.9 ppg, 5.2 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.9 steals this season.
Isaac Ford 6’5 – Wren (Piedmont)
Ford is one of the main cogs on this talented Golden Hurricanes team. Ford has received interest this season from Columbia International (SC), Warren Wilson (NC), Southern Wesleyan (SC), Erskine (SC) and Bridgewater College (VA).
Ford is 2nd on the team at 18.9 ppg and 4.3 rebounds a night.
John Kanaan 6’5 – Wren (Piedmont)
Kanaan s big shouldered combo forward that is strong as a ox. Kanaan has received interest from Southern Wesleyan and Lenoir Rhyne (NC) this spring. Kanaan is getting 14.6 ppg and 9.8 rebounds a night for the Golden Hurricanes.
Class 5A
Blythewood vs Dorman Friday March 3 8:30 P.M.
Tyson McClain
Tyson McClain 6’1 – Dorman
McClain excels in the classroom with a 4.3 GPA and 1130 SAT test score according to the coaching staff. McClain a All-Region performer averaged 11.6 ppg, 3.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists this season for the Cavaliers (22-5).
McClain has connected on 42% (58-137) from three point range.
