After spending his junior season at Norcross (Ga.), Butler decided to return to Dorman High School for his senior season. He is one of the top ranked players in the PrepHoopsSC rankings and is having a strong start to the season. Butler has helped Dorman High School to a 11-4 record overall this season.
Keys to his Game
At 6-foot-5, Butler is an athletic point guard with great size. He can see over smaller guards and can get his shot off easier. He is good at attacking the paint to either score or make the right pass. He can finish at the rim and can shoot it from deep. He has a good stroke on his jump-shot that he consistently can knock down. He can create for himself off the dribble or create space for his teammates.
Next Year at Ohio
At Ohio, Butler will back up senior point guard Jaron Simmons. I could see Butler making a push at becoming the starter before his freshman season even begins with his size. He will join forward Bennett Vander Plas and 6-foot-9 center A.J. Gareri for the freshman class at Ohio University. Butler chose Ohio over Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Hofstra, Indiana State, Murray State, Charlotte and UNC Wilmington.
