He uses his physical tools on the defensive end of the floor where he can be a game changer at times. We have seen him this season get multiple steals in a game and take them the other way for scores. If they got by one of his teammates Acree swatted shots on the interior. Offensively he scores mostly in transition and on strong drives. Jump shot continues to be an area he is trying to improve. He definitely showed that growth recently at the Highland Shootout where he drilled the from a variety of spots. Rebounds well both in and out of his area for a wing. He is improving as a passer. Potential low-major D1 prospect.
The junior spoke about his role for the team.
“I have been having a big role this year. I am a team captain. Averaging 18 points. That is one of my jobs on the team.”
What areas of his game has he been focusing on developing?
“My jump shot had to develop a lot. That is something I have been working on a lot.”
As an upperclassmen Acree and Darius Beane have to be the leaders now.
“We have to show these young guys and lead by example. Help them through everything since they are new.”
Western Illinois is a team that has shown significant interest in Acree throughout the early part of the recruiting process. He says that they want him to visit sometime soon.
