A general assumption regarding Armstrong this season was that Thompson would draw the attention away from the rest of the team. It’s been quite true so far, and Rollins is benefitting from that game plan. Sooner or later, opponents will have to keep an eye on the agile point guard.
Now a senior, Rollins is the second-leading scorer for Coach Greg Miller, contributing 13.6 points per contest. The Falcons sit at a 2-3 record through the holiday break, but their losses are all to NHR top ten squads (Tartan, DeLaSalle, and Lakeville North). “I feel like these games have been a good test for us,” Isaiah told NHR. ” It’s only making us better and as we approach the final stretch of the season we will be a very solid squad that will turn many heads come playoff time.”
The Falcon backcourt isn’t a one-man show, however, and Rollins enjoys running with his fellow senior guard Davonte Saeed-El. Recently back from injury, Saeed-El has only added to Isaiah’s strong start. ” Davonte’s a very critical piece of our team and I feel like we both complement each other and our teammates with our dribble penetration, which leads to open looks, and the ball pressure we are able to put on teams,” Rollins said.
So after an impressive first month of the season, which schools are calling?
“The schools I’m hearing most from at the moment are Bethel, Northland, and Central Lakes College,” Isaiah reported.
“I plan on making a decision towards the end of this season.”
Catch Rollins and Armstrong back in action this week at St. Louis Park on Tuesday, then at Park Center on Friday to get Northwest Suburban Conference play in full swing.
