A long, athletic wing player, Bishop is a force on the baseline where he is capable of throwing down thunderous dunks, but can also step out and knock down perimeter jumpers with a smooth left handed shooting stroke. He was recently named the MVP of the William Jewell Tournament over the Christmas Holiday break.
“I would say I play a slashing play style,” Bishop said. “I’m good at attacking at the rim but also shooting above my opponents.”
Bishop spent the offseason playing for the Bill Waris BlueJays and worked out with Vic Williams, focusing on creating space, shooting, and making moves at the basket.
He says the biggest influence on my basketball career has been his dad.
“He always pushed me to be the greatest I can, and he has always been at my games encouraging me,” Bishop said.
A Duke fan, Bishop says he also likes watching Creighton play.
“I try to emulate my game like they do by pushing down the floor, and having good ball movement, and giving the ball to the open teammate,” he said.
Bishop currently holds offers from the University of Missouri and Tulsa, and has also heard from Nebraska, Creighton, Butler, Kansas State, Florida Gulf Coast and Wichita State.
