Thanks to the multi-tasking of the 6’6″ Kacmarek, the Rebels are enjoying a very successful season at 12-3. Kacmarek has also received a lot of recruiting interest from a number of Division III schools and NAIA schools. DePauw, Denison, Washington & Lee and Rhodes are some of the schools that have been contacting Kacmarek.
Kacmarek’s ability to play almost anywhere on the floor has made him very attractive to these schools. He is very comfortable on the perimeter where he can score and make plays for teammates. He is also a matchup problem with his size and skill level.
“I like to play a face-up game,” Kacmarek said. “If they put a little guy on me, I can go post up inside. If they put a bigger guy on me, I’m going to drive around him or rise up and shoot the 3-pointer.”
As a senior, Kacmarek is currently averaging 16.9 points and 5.3 rebounds a game while shooting 50 percent from the field. He is also averaging 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals a game.
Kacmarek has raised his level of play even more in the last two weeks as Priory is on a three-game winning streak. In those three victories, he is averaging 22 points a game. Kacmarek led the Rebels to a berth in the championship game of the Fort Zumwalt North Tournament against perennial powerhouse Sikeston on Friday night.
In the semifinals, Kacmarek registered a triple-double in the Rebels 63-59 upset of Class 4, No. 4 ranked Jefferson City Helias in the semifinals. Kacmarek finished the game with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists to spark the Rebels’ biggest win of the season. He also had 23 points and five rebounds in a 67-49 victory over Hannibal in the first round. Kacmarek also scored 23 points in a 54-51 victory over Metro League rival Lutheran North to begin the winning streak.
