A 6’2 point guard, Rhodes is adept at getting into the lane and finishing tough chances. He said a big summer with MoKan Elite 16U has helped him take his game to another level this season.
“I would say my summer went very well and it was really cool to play in my first EYBL with MoKan and great competition and it made me a lot better,” he said. “The things that I was focusing on was just knowing my role and find what I can do to help the team.
“I hope I have a chance to play with MoKan again and play in the EYBL again and get my name out bigger but will see how it goes.”
Rockhurst is currently 5-5 playing a tough schedule, but Rhodes says there have been several games that could have gone either way.
“There were a lot games we should of won,” he said. “We’re kinda a youngish team but we have a lot of athletic people. My play helps the team by just pushing it down court looking for my shot and getting into the lane and kicking out.”
Rhodes says he is a big fan of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and tries to take different elements of his game and implement them into his own.
“Every time he gets the ball he’s always in attack mode and gets everyone going,” Rhodes said. “When I’m on the court I’m always going to rim like he does.”
Rhodes currently does not have any offers, but says he has drawn a lot of interest from several Division I programs, including Western Illinois, Florida Gulf Coast, Kansas, Nebraska Omaha, Missouri and Northern Iowa.
