Joey St. Pierre to UTEP
With not a lot of legit size left on the board in the state of Illinois in the class of 2017 Richmond Burton’s Joey St. Pierre was one of the top available centers in the state. Monday afternoon he committed to UTEP. He posted the news on his twitter page. We caught up with the center to see why they were his choice.
“Right when I got to El Paso and met Coach Floyd and the rest of the staff I knew it was the right fit. I’ve never met a more caring staff who genuinely cares about your well being and not only you as a player. Everything about UTEP was exactly what I wanted when making my decision to pick a school and it’s the perfect fit.”
At 6’9” with a physical frame St. Pierre certainly brings a space eater to the table. The bruising five man is a solid rebounder and can score at times using his physicality on the block.
St. Pierre is the #3 center in the 2017 class and #39 overall prospect.
