We were there the last day of action to see some thrilling games along with one of the best 4A vs. 1A games we will see this year. Here’s a look back at some of the best senior performers on the day.
Billie Webster III – 6’4/SG/2017 – Seton Catholic – Webster was impressive throughout the tournament but he played great on both sides of the ball in this one. He scored 31 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double. Webster was aggressive on both ends of the floor and he was easily the best player on the court. He didn’t shoot very well from behind the arc but his shot does look better. Could be a nice project at a D3/NAA/JUCO school but will need to gain a bit of weight.
Grant Smith – 6’6/SF/2017 – Connersville – Smith hit the boards really hard in the game and pulled down a day high 16 rebounds. He scored 25 points but only was 6/15 from the floor and all of his shots were from inside the paint. He struggled from the floor but we saw that he still can put up points by going 11/11 from the line. Connersville didn’t really need Smith to get going but he still put up a remarkable 25/16 stat line.
Grant Pedigo – 6’6/SF/2017 – Franklin Central – In a much closer game than Franklin Central hoped for, Pedigo was one of the two guys that really played well for their team. Pedigo was 8/16 from the floor for 17 points and added in seven rebounds. What really stuck out was his passing ability adding in five assists. Pedigo looked like the guy who could take over a game at the next level.
Kobe Webster – 5’11/G/2017 – Park Tudor – This was the game that Webster needed this year. He had 18 points and did it very efficiently. He ran the lead guard spot as well as I have seen this year and had a nice balance between dishing the ball and scoring the ball. He had 18 points in the game and this is exactly the Kobe Webster we need to see.
Jake Cerbone – 6’4/SG/2017 – Franklin Central – Cerbone was the other guy for Franklin Central who had a really nice game. The tall and lean shooting guard was on fire from behind the arc and really let it rain. He was 4/9 from deep and added in a few free throws as well to his total to score 18 points. He is a pretty good creator and looks like he could play at a small school but needs some work on the defensive side of the ball.
