They battled tough and fell down by as much as ten points in the third quarter before getting the lead down to one in the fourth.
Anderson held strong and never trailed in the game during the 53-49 win. They had some trouble with Liberty Christian’s Ronny Williams but never gave in.
Leading scorers: Anderson: Raphael Williams 18, Zakarius Milhouse 11, Marquavius Beverly 11. Liberty Christian: Ronny Williams 25, Trajan Dixon 10
Leading rebounders: Anderson: Marquavius Beverly 8, Zakarius Milhouse 6. Liberty Christian: Ronny Williams 12, Trajan Dixon 8.
MVP: Raphael Williams (Anderson)
Williams played excellent in this game making big shot after big shot and led his team with 18 points on 6/9 shooting from the floor. He ran his team well and never got too high or too low. Williams also added in a steal and three rebounds to his final stat line. Williams was really the only consistent performer for Anderson.
Best offensive performance: Ronny Williams (Liberty Christian)
Williams did it all for Liberty Christian. He scored over half their points finishing with 25 and got to the rim really well. Once he was there he finished over his defender who was five inches taller. Williams looked like the best player on the floor for either team and even hit the offensive glass hard even though he stands at just 5’8.
Best defensive performance: Ronny Williams (Liberty Christian)
Like his offense, Williams’ defense was stellar. He is very, very quick and uses that speed to his advantage. He got six steals and was in the face of his defender all night long. Williams was a hassle on both ends and even had 10 defensive rebounds.
Play of the Game: Raphael Williams hits a corner three ball
Williams hit a corner three to silence the Liberty Christian crowd with 3:40 left in the game. This extended the score to 47-43 and was the dagger to Liberty Christian.
