Jaylen Quick – Wilson (Florence) (2017)
Quick has helped the Tigers to a 16-0 start and a number 1 ranking in Class 4A. Quick a left-handed power forward has made a few stops over the years at South Florence and Hannah-Pamplico before surfacing at Wilson this fall. Quick played the football season at South Florence before transferring over to the the Tigers. Quick is ranked #29 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Ta’seon Johnson – Timberland (St Stephen) (2017)
Johnson has played the past few summers on the AAU circuit with Upward Stars SE. Johnson often nicknamed DJ is 6’6 post player. Johnson is academic qualifier according to Timberland Head Coach Jerome Stewart. Johnson currently averaging 12.6 ppg and 7 rebounds this season for the Wolves. Johnson has scored 798 career points.
Johnson is ranked #46 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Matt Garay – Beaufort (2017) (pictured)
Garay a left-handed post player stand is at 6’7. Garay played AAU with the Carolina Ballers last summer. Garay is currently 15.5 ppg, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks this season for the Eagles. Garay was named Region VIII-AAA Player of the Year last season. Garay has received some NCAA D2 interest this season but remains open in the recruiting process.
Garay is ranked #57 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Maurice Hardiman – James Island (2017)
Hardiman has yet to reach the floor this season for James Island. Hardiman sat out the first semester with some off the court issues. Hardiman played AAU this past summer with TMP. Hardiman will more than likely need to entertain junior college according to close sources. Hardiman is ranked #56 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Tyrell Mendenhall – Legacy Charter (Greenville) (2017)
Mendenhall is averaging 6.6 ppg this season on a very talented Legacy Charter team. Mendenhall is in his 2nd season at the Greenville school. Mendenhall hails originally from Newberry, SC. Mendenhall is ranked #64 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Lutwon Burton – Greenville (2017)
Burton has his Red Raiders off to a 16-2 start season this season. Burton checks in at #75 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Tyler Garvin – Pinewood Prep (Summerville) (2017) (pictured)
Garvin a center started off his career at First Baptist in Charleston. Garvin played AAU ball this summer with Palmetto Elite. Garvin is more of half court back to the back type of player. Garvin likes to draw contact on both ends of the floor but won’t overwhelm you with tons of athleticism. Garvin helped coach Pat Eidson get his 800th career win last night. Garvin stands at #84 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
Devontae Davis – Silver Bluff (Petticoat Junction) (2017) (pictured)
Silver Bluff HS actually has a Aiken, SC address but lies at Highway 278 and Silver Bluff Road. Davis is a big boy at 6’5 (260) and actually visited the University of South Carolina for football recently. Davis could be placed at a junior college by the Gamecocks for football if he fails to qualify academically. Davis is ranked #105 in the Prep Hoops Top 125.
