Play of the Game : Dijon Goss – Carvers Bay (2018)
Goss was active all night long on the glass for the Bears. Goss showed his determination in the 1st quarter battling back for three straight rebounds to give the Bears the lead for good in the game.
Best Offensive Performance : Dijon Goss – Carvers Bay (2018)
Goss was able to manufacture all night long on both ends. Goss a rangy small forward has finally starting to peak since first seeing him as a player early on in his sophomore season.
Best Defensive Performance : Hakeem Graham – Mullins (2017)
Graham a 6’5 post player hit the glass hard for the Auctioneers. Graham has a ability to run the floor and alter shots on the defensive end.
Best Intangibles : Hakeem Graham – Mullins (2017)
Graham is a late bloomer with his best basketball still in front of him. Graham has really good length and great footwork. Graham scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the loss tonight.
Best Guy off the Bench : Stephon Green – Carvers Bay (2019)
Green a combo forward has a lot of potential but still needs to figure it out at times to reach it. Green scored 6 points in the lopsided victory.
Best Under the Radar Performance : Tyrek Reed – Carvers Bay (2018)
Reed a small point guard scored 14 points in the Bears win. Reed needs to play play under control at times and just run the team.
Best Underclassmen : Sammy Pressley – Mullins – (2020)
Pressley just a freshman on this very young Auctioneers team. Pressley showed glimpses of him driving and slashing to the rack. Pressley will for sure be a name to follow down the road.
Best Project to Watch : Stephon Green – Carvers Bay (2019)
Green has the tools to be a good player he just needs to keep improving in all facets of the game.
Best Takeaway :
The Bears improve to 8-9 on the season with a big region game this Friday vs Marion coming to the Choppee Community. Jeremiah Greene is the only senior on the Bears roster this season. Mullins 3-8 is a few years down the road from being back to the good ole days. Mullins Head Coach Steve Smith will get these kids in the right state of mind before you know it and they will surprise someone maybe not this season but next season.
