Play of the Game : Lach Dancy – Waccamaw (2017)
Dancy blocked back to back shots on one end of the floor and ran down and converted a three pointer for the Warriors to take the lead at the 2:54 mark of the 2nd quarter. The Warriors were leading 16-14 and never trailed the rest of the game.
Best Offensive Performance : Jawan Bryant – Waccamaw (2017)
Bryant was just all over the glass this evening on both ends of the floor. Bryant would come up with a bucket when the Warriors needed it time after time.
Best Defensive Performance : Correy Hemingway – Loris (2018)
Hemingway came off the bench for the Lions this evening. Hemingway a 5’9 guard plays a feisty defense and really gets into your face on the defensive end with his aggressive style.
Best Intangibles : Travis Walters – Loris (2018)
Walters is a undersized post player that knows how to play in the paint. Walters draws plenty of contact and rebounds really well on the offensive end of the floor. Walters plays strictly inside of 3 feet from the basket.
Best Guy off the Bench : Jahrique Isaiah – Loris (2019)
Isaiah didn’t start this evening but, when he did enter the game he very rarely went back out. Isaiah is a shifty point guard with a quick handle. Isaiah is very comfortable using his left hand even though he’s right-handed.
Best Under the Radar Performance : Ty’shaun Richardson – Waccamaw (2019)
Richardson comes off the bench for the Warriors. Richardson last season played at nearby Georgetown School of Science & Arts. Richardson a guard still has his best basketball still in front of him down the road.
Best Underclassmen : Travis Walters – Loris (2018)
Walters plays so much bigger than his size of 6’2 in the paint. Walters is not a flashy performer but a productive player with points and rebounds in the paint.
Best Project to Watch : Kavon Drayton – Loris (2018)
Drayton showed some flashes here tonight but did get into foul trouble.
Best Takeaway :
Waccamaw got away with a victory tonight without much help from Connor Heimberger
Heimberger (2018) 5’9 left-handed was held in check by the Lions. Heimberger was averaging 10.3 ppg entering tonights game and finished with just 4 points late in the game.
