Prickett is ranked #74 in the Prep Hoops SC top 80 scored a game-high 28 points in the 68-60 overtime win over Trinity-Byrnes. Prickett is also a star for the Skyhawks football team as the wide receiver. The win improved the Skyhawks to 13-9 and the Titans dropped to 18-8 on the season.
Play of the Game: Trent Green three-point play
Green made the game-tying foul shot after he made a layup to tie the game at 57-57 with 13.3 seconds left in the game.
Best Offensive Performance: Lucas Prickett-Hammond-2018
Prickett scored nine of the Skyhawks 11 points in Overtime.
Best Defensive Performance: Isaiah Washington-Hammond -2019
Washington made several steals and grabbed several rebounds in the final minute of the game. Including, the tying score when he rebound the ball to dish it to Green for the tying score. Washington also made defensive stops on both ends of the floor in overtime.
Best Guy off The Bench: CJ Miles-Trinity-Byrnes- 2018
Miles scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds. Miles also made four-three pointers.
Intangibles: Trinity-Byrnes second-straight last minute loss
For the second game in a row the Titans blew a lead in the Fourth quarter. Trinity led the Christian Academy by three late in the game on Tuesday in a 70-68 loss. Titans had eight-point lead against Skyhawks with 1:20 left, they ended up going scoreless until: 02 left in overtime.
Best Underclassman: CJ Miles-Trinity-2018
Miles is a 6’3 left-handed SG. Miles will shoot the three and play hard defense. Miles will drive through traffic to make the layup and he will grab the rebound.
Best Under the Radar: Cleo Cantey-Hammond-2019
Cantey is a 5’10 point guard. Cantey runs the Skyhawks offense, with quickness up the floor. Cantey also will guard his man up the floor causing turnover. Cantey will also drive through traffic to score and will take contact.
Best Project: Josh Lipsitz-Hammond-2019
Lipsitz is a 6’1 center for the Skyhawks. Lipsitz also plays quarterback for the Skyhawks football team. Lipsitz is a big body that makes plays for the defense. Lipsitz has good motor and a good attitude for the Skyhawks on both side of the floor.
Takeaway:
Hammond came into Trinity-Byrnes and crashed senior night with a 68-60 comeback win overtime. Skyhawks outscored the Titans 11-3 in overtime to send the crowd home with a bitter defeat.This was the last home game for two keys seniors Marcus Crawford and Kris Chapman. Crawford is ranked # 102 in the Prep Hoops 125 seniors with an average of 12.6 points a game. Chapman average 12.3 a game. The Titans have lost two heart-breaking games in a row, Including, tuesday 70-68 loss to Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach. Both games the Titans were ready to celebrate the win , they let game go and loss. Hope that two losses cahelp the Titans to big run in SCISA Class 2A playoffs.
