Match-up to watch: Liberty vs. Grandview
These two would have to meet in the championship, meaning the seeds would have to play out. Liberty is off to a 6-0 start and battled Grandview in a 59-55 thriller on Dec. 13.
Favorite: Liberty
Liberty is off to a 6-0 start and was awarded the No. 1 seed. They have won three games by four points or less. Have a really nice backcourt in 2018 guards Jalen Lewis and Jeremiah Garrett.
Challenger: Grandview
Grandview is 5-1 and its only loss came to top-seeded Liberty by four points. They have also been tough in close games, winning a two-point game over Liberty North, and a three-point game against Blue Valley.
Darkhorse: St. Joe Central
St. Joe Central squad is 7-1 and has one of the best backcourts in the Kansas City area. When those guys are on, they’re really tough to beat. Look for them to give Grandview everything they want in the semifinals.
