One. Hill-Murray guard Simeon Davis gave the Pioneers a nice opening season road win scoring an incredible 46 of his teams 71 points as Hill was victorious in overtime 71-67. They beat Cannon Falls by four in that overtime win and nobody was able to stop Davis from producing.
Two. The Rochester Mayo/Farmington came seemed like it could be close, but no. Sam Wilson destroyed the Spartans in every way possible scoring 34 points and leading his team to a 68-31 victory on opening night. Sam had more points than the opposing team.
Three. Delano’s backcourt combo Derek Techam and Calvin Wishart combined for 54 points in an opening night win. Derek knocked out jumpers from all corners and Wishart had 25.
Four. Tirik Reeves and the Fridley Tigers weren’t supposed to put up much of a fight against Delano but Reeves scored 31 as Delano wasn’t able to keep somebody in front of him to stop his slashing attack. Delano won like expected but the performance of Reeves helping his team score 86 was unexpected.
Five. Devonta Prince put up 20 points and ten boards giving Brooklyn Center a double-double in a 19 point win over Bloomington Kennedy. The Centaurs won 86-67 and Prince’s dominating performance going at the rim was key.
