With the season three ways over, there has been several underclassman that have excelled on the court to improve their stock. Here is out list of underclassman stock risers.
Hunter Erickson, JR, 6’3 (Timpview) has proven he is a legit division one prospect with his play this season. He is the second leading scorer in the entire state with a 27.8 points per game average. Erickson has shown his ability to shoot from well beyond the three point line and also get to the rim with ease and finish over bigger defenders.
Zach Wilson, JR, 6’2 (Corner Canyon) Has played very well for the Chargers and is a consistent 2nd scoring option. Wilson is averaging over 17 points per game and played well in the Utah Elite 8 Tournament. He has shown he is a as good at basketball as he is playing quarterback for the football team.
Ross Reeves, JR, 6’0 (Orem) Doesn’t look like a basketball player with his thin build but Reeves has been killing it for the Tigers. He’s averaging over 18 points per game and is able to shoot it well from deep and also get to the rim and finish. Reeves had 18 points versus 5A powerhouse Lone peak in his last game.
Alex Holley, JR, 6’4 (Roy) Has been the best player for the 4-0 upstart Roy Royals. Holley is averaging over 16 points per game and shown the ability to hit the three and also score inside the paint. He hasn’t faced great competition so far. We will find out if he can keep this production up versus better players.
Mason Falslev, FR, 6’1 (Sky View) Has proven he is ready for the varsity level as a young freshman. Falslev is averaging almost 16 points per game for the 4-0 Bobcats. He might be the best freshman in the state of Utah and he will be a player to watch throughout the season,
Braden Baker, SO, 6’3 (Snow Canyon) Is averaging nearly 20 points per game and has been torching the nets so far this season. Baker is a bit of an unknown prospect but he’s on our radar now. It will be interesting to see if he can keep up this production.
Adam Santiago, JR, 6’0 (Timpview) is averaging nearly 20 points per game for the high octane Timpview offense. Santiago is able to score from deep and also getting to the rim. He is a great 2nd option for Hunter Erickson. This backcourt is one of the most dangerous in the state of Utah.
