Known for his all-around game, Davis transferred from Grandview, Mo. where he was a standout for the varsity in each of the past two seasons to Life Prep.
An athletic 6-foot-6, 185-pound wing player, Davis has earned a reputation for his ability to do a little bit of everything. A year ago, he helped Grandview to a 17-10 record and an appearance in the championship game of the Missouri Class 4 District 14 tournament. He led the squad with 17.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, was second on the squad with 3.1 assists and led the team with 2.5 steals per game.
“I would describe my game as a all around game very athletic some things I do well on the basketball court is get the team involved and score,” he said. “I am focused on working on everything because you can’t be perfect.”
Davis says he hopes to take his game to another level while at Life Prep.
“The expectations I have for this team is for us to finally get the respect that we need and to shock everyone when they see us play,” he said. “I’m looking forward to playing everyone and taking it a game at a time.”
Davis has an offer from Central Arkansas and has heard from a host of NCAA Division I programs, including Wichita State, Nebraska-Omaha, Creighton Bradley, Denver, Drake, Indiana State and Florida Gulf Coast.
Davis played his grassroots basketball this past summer for Kansas City based Run GMC and led the squad in scoring at 11.1 points per game, shot 52 percent from the field and is second on the team in rebounding at 5.6 per game.
“They helped me become a better student and player for the next level and I appreciate them a lot for that,” Davis said.
Davis, who says he is a fan of Lebron James, says his father and brothers have been the biggest influence on his basketball career to date.
“The biggest influence on my basketball career is my family because they all have played basketball and made it to the next level and went overseas. So I hope to continue in their footsteps.
