The sophomore swats shot after shot. Explosive bounce off the floor and has timing blocking shots while not picking up fouls. Also can defend on the perimeter with his lateral quickness. Offensively he is a bit raw, but flashes potential. He is really effective cleaning up on the offensive glass with a great second jump. A lot of his points come off pure energy. Shoots a good ball mechanically, but that will need to improve the consistency with it. Trouble with turnovers when putting it on the deck. Raw upside prospect with a ton of untapped potential! One to track at the D1 level.
Hargrove talked about his never ending motor.
“You have to play with a lot of energy. It is a team game. Play hard at all times.”
What is his role on the team this year?
“I see my role as getting rebounds. Being the hype man. Boxing out and getting boards. Running the floor.”
Hargrove ran with the Hoopville Warriors on the circuit last summer.
“It went good. I don’t remember our record, but we were pretty good.”
He has gained early interest from Illinois and Bradley.
