But new kids have stepped up: junior forward Jordan Belka has 17.2 PPG, Mitch Spilles is averaging 10.5 PPG, and senior leader Matt Carik is putting up 19.2 PPG to lead the team.
“People should know about Jordan Belka,” Carik said of his teammate. “He’s a 6′ 6″ PF that can stretch the floor and has a good inside game. Mitch Spilles is also a really good player who is the hardest working player I know and has a smooth jump shot.”
What are Carik’s plans after high school? NHR asked him recently.
“I am planning on playing in college,” Matt said. “The colleges that are recruiting the most are Hamline, Augsburg, and Jamestown along with St. Scholastica. I’m not sure when I will make a decision but I want to make the right choice.
“I’m open to any colleges. I’m willing to visit any college that contacts me to see how I would fit in. I’d like to make a decision before February. I would like a college that offers my major: sports marketing/management. But I’m not worried about the location of the school. I want to feel comfortable with the school I’m at and with the coaches and team.”
